Eligibility
In order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants need to meet a set of minimum eligibility criteria. Please verify your eligibility before applying. In case of doubt you can ask for clarifications to your Home University's WELCOME coordinator or to the project Coordinator.

Your eligibility will be checked on the basis of the documents that you will provide with your application, such as your CV, a motivation letter, transcripts of records, Degree certificates or other documents to certify the study level needed for the course or programme at the host university. Proficiency in the language of instruction and other documents will be required. For detailed requirements, please see the programme information at the host university you are interested in.

The eligibility status refers to the time when the mobility starts.

Before you apply, you have to identify the target group you belong to and support this with proof of your status.

Mobility flows for students and staff among Egypt and Lebanon are not eligible.

In order to be eligible for applying for the WELCOME scholarships:

You must have the nationality of Egypt, Lebanon or of one of the European Countries represented in the Consortium.
You must not have resided nor have carried out your main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries at the moment of the submission of the application.
You must not have already benefited from a scholarship for the same type of mobility under another project under the EMA2-STRAND1.
You need to comply with the Target group requirements, please refer to the tableon the WELCOME section.
Concerning the academic qualifications, you must meet the minimum requirements specified below. You must also have additional academic qualifications if required for the specific course or program you are applying for.

Undergraduate

You are eligible to apply if you hold a Secondary School Diploma. For Target Group 1 students it is also necessary to have successfully completed at least 1 year of undergraduate university studies. Please note that specific courses or programs may have additional requirements.

Master

You are eligible to apply if you have finished your Undergraduate studies or have completed three years of university education. Students currently enrolled in a Bachelor program, that will finish before the mobility starts may also apply, but they must declare their current situation and their commitment to obtain the necessary certification within the deadline set by each Host University through the
Statement of Commitment(38.89 kB). Please note that not all host universities will be able to evaluate your application based on the Statement of Commitment; each Host university will decide case by case based on their internal regulations.

PhD

You are eligible to apply if you have completed a Master program or have started your PhD studies already.
Students currently enrolled in a Master program, that will finish before the mobility starts may also apply, but they must declare their current situation and their commitment to obtain the necessary certification within the deadline set by each Host University through the Statement of Commitment (38.74 kB). Please note that not all host universities will be able to evaluate your application based on the Statement of Commitment; each Host university will decide case by case based on their internal regulations.

Post-Doctorate

You are eligible if you hold a Doctorate degree. European post-doctorates only must have obtained a doctorate degree in the last two years and must have the support of one of the European partner universities to carry out a post-doctorate mobility.

Your post-doctorate activity abroad can consist in research, training and/or following highly specialized courses.

Staff

Staff mobility is open to both academic and administrative Staff of partner universities. The staff exchange may constitute a post-per-post exchange or a one-way visitor flow to or from the Third Countries concerned by the project.
Staff undertaking a period of teaching, training or research in a partner University must:

work in or be associated to one of the participating institutions;
be fully integrated into the Department or Faculty of the home institution with a full time contract.
